Tame is one of the municipalities in the southwestern department of Arauca (Colombia) at 343 meters above sea level, on a plateau in the foothills of the Eastern Cordillera, which encased the lower slopes of the rivers Tame and Cravo. 

This region beginning in the Sierra Nevada cocuy and continues downward, is also formed by acid savannas, sometimes concave phenomenon whereby manifest poorly drained; however, there are fertile soils in the foothills that allow demanding crops.
